Illegal immigration

Morons, psychopaths and mental defectives…If you guessed I was talking about Obama supporters, then ding, ding, ding…you’re correct! I cannot imagine a group of more brain dead sheeple than those who presently give our rambling, bumbling POTUS high marks for performance. Rasmussen has him at 50% favorability in today’s poll. With ever-increasing unemployment numbers, inflation on the move upward, increasing oil/gasoline prices and the price of food at 10 year highs I would imagine that any other president would suffer some unfavorability. But his trusty minions in the lamestream media have kept Mr. Obama afloat in the churning seas of his own making. I’m hoping that Israel supporters of all religions will start to drag his favorability down to where it belongs (probably in the high 30′s) after they’ve had a chance to cogitate on his truly breathtaking treachery involving Mideast “peace” and his “return to 1967 borders” comment.

“Never can say goodbye.” Folks are clutching on to the notion of “free” healthcare in spite of the facts presented to them that Medicare will collapse in 2030 (according to the actuary of the CBO.  We know this because a majority of Americans polled are not in favor of Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) plan to overhaul this bank-breaking behemoth federal program. But regardless of their reluctance to embrace Ryan’s proposed changes, or their wholesale buying of the negative hyperbole and outright lies being put forth by the Democrats against both Mr. Ryan and his proposal, something will need to be done to rein in the astronomical costs of this failing program. What will those who now clutch at this program do when it eventually fails? Leave it to their children or grandchildren to clean up the mess? Or worse, allow the country to default on its “promises” to Medicare recipients? It’s tough medicine to swallow, but something must be done. The Dems are demagoging this issue and making political hay with Ryan’s proposal and the support of it by many in the GOP. Granny gets rolled off the cliff…the GOP are uncaring and hard-hearted. Phooey!! But such are the conundrums that we face when we stray from the Constitution and roll out social programs that were never intended by the Framers. There are really only two choices…admit to ourselves that changes must be made, and grin and bear those changes, or…enable craven politicians to use Medicare as a political third-rail issue and see it eventually fail and produce dire financial consequences for our nation.

Barack Obama, The Tin (Ear) Man. There has probably never been another American president that has a tinnier ear for pomp, circumstance and protocol when it comes to interacting with other world leaders and notables than our current executive. He has an embarrassing track record of bowing to despots and dictators, speaking at inappropriate times, giving inappropriate or insulting gifts and “speechifying” in a manner that infuriates Americans, friends and allies alike. This latest gaffe, speaking over God Save The Queen, wasn’t covered much by the lamestream, but it was a world-class gaffe for a supposed first-string world leader. It was just another embarrassing and infuriating example of this president’s bull-in-the-china-shop approach to diplomacy and international relations. At this point in his term, I’m convinced that our friends and allies see the Obama’s as ebony hillbillies who are  not trainable in the diplomatic arts, and individuals who perhaps mean well, but just have a knack for getting things wrong.

Not My Cuppa Tea! The NY-26 congressional race was an interesting political battle. In a race distinguished by the lackluster field of candidates of all parties… Democrat Kathy Hochul, the eventual winner, Republican Jane Corwin and “Tea party” candidate Jack Davis. Davis was actually a Democrat using the the Tea party moniker to compete in the general election. Democrat pundits are using this sole, obscure victory to indicate the public’s displeasure with Paul Ryan’s Medicare proposal. But this race should give GOP candidates nationwide pause and chasten them to Democrat political treachery and chicanery. See, the Dems engaged in combination “divide and conquer” and “addition by subtraction” scheme to win this election. The addition of the ersatz Tea Party candidate Davis certainly siphoned prospective votes from Corwin. And since Hochul didn’t win by a plurality of the vote, or by a margin that was greater than the vote tally of Davis, then she really didn’t have a mandate…nor was there a clear mandate associated with her election. mark my words, candidates in the mold of Davis are going to crop-up nationwide in the 2012 election. GOP candidates are going to have to make a bigger deal of the duplicitous, phoney Tea party candidates as they appear…and educate their electorate as best as possible. Because the Democrats don’t care how they win — corpses, convicts or livestock voting, or by tricking serious conservative voters that a liberal Democrat candidate running is a serious Tea Party candidate. Let the games begin.

Didn’t You Know bin Laden is DEAD??? I think we’re seeing the framework of Barack Obama’s re-election plans come together, and it is a simple plan indeed. He is going to be the slayer of Osama. The defender of the Republic. I can just see the questions at the presidential debates:

  • Moderator: Mr. President, how do you explain the 9% unemployment and trillion dollar deficits to the average American voter?
  • Obama: Well, let me say this, I GOT OSAMA BIN LADEN!!! Ya know.
  • Moderator: Yes, Mr. President…grated. But what about the stifling regulations that are coming from the Obama administration?”
  • Obama: Well, I did KILL OSAMA BIN LADEN!!! That is a change we can believe in!
  • and so on…

The snuffing of Osama is going to wear thin real fast, I’m sure. But that won’t stop Obama from taking his share of victory laps, trying to extract maximum political advantage from his “courageous” decision. Now, indeed the president did eradicate this mad dog terrorist leader. But, contrary to the ecstasy being enjoyed by the unfortunate Joe Biden, snubbing Osama was the president’s job. He was supposed to get bin Laden if he could, dead or alive. And Biden’s eddic hyperbole aside, a courageous decision by a president is exemplified by Harry Truman’s truly mind-numbing decision to nuke two Japanese cities to aid in ending WWII. Truman’s decision is a model of courage and leadership. In comparison, what Obama did in regards to eliminating Osama was like taking out the White House trash.

Where’s The Outrage?? Well, the hypocrisy of the Democrats has been revealed in full glory with the renewal of the Patriot Act (PA.) Nary a sniff or grunt has been heard from the list of the usual congressional suspects who had no compunction in excoriating George W. Bush for his embrace of the PA after 9/11. But since Obama is the beneficiary of the renewal, then all is right in America…even though the renewed provisions, including overseas wiretaps, were seen as unconstitutional and intrusive when President Bush was POTUS. My question is: Where’s the outrage?? Cue the crickets.

Stating the Obvious. A big news tidbit over the past few days has been the fact that the Hispanic population in the US is now over 50 million. Well, duh! With an open southern border to Mexico, I’m surprised that this number isn’t bigger! The soft-skulls in the lamestream seem somehow enthralled with this population growth in the Hispanic community…seeing it as somehow a win for diversity. It would be if we had a secure border with orderly immigration. But embracing this unchecked population growth, knowing full well that a vast majority of it is due to illegal immigration is self-destructive to our nation and an odd display of encouragement by the supporters of this growth.

God Bless Joplin, MO. The people of Joplin had to endure an unspeakable tragedy. One minute they were experiencing a warm, mid-spring evening and the next, almost in the wink of an eye, their community was almost completely obliterated. It is heartening and encouraging to see neighbor-helping-neighbor in Joplin. These folks, who experienced utter devastation of their material possessions, didn’t wait for FEMA trucks or the federal government to come to their rescue. There were no “Rescue Me” signs and people just doing nothing. Although they lost EVERYTHING, most of the folks spent countless hours searching for family and neighbors, and helping to collect and pass out supplies to the other dazzled survivors. Post-Katrina New Orleans and post-tornado Joplin provide a perfect contrast between the two societies that we live among in the United States. New Orleans had too many folks dependent upon the largess of the federal government, unwilling to take charge and save themselves. Joplin, however, had folks who couldn’t care less if FEMA trucks and government assistance never came — because they have each-other. Gob bless those who were taken in this random act of nature’s fury…and God grant the survivors the grace and strength to endure and survive this disaster.

[BTW -- I'm baaaaaaack! And I will strive to have more regular postings from here on in!! enjoy!]

It’s becoming fashionable, perhaps even chic, to demand a boycott against a person/group/city/state/region/country for offending the “righteous” sensibilities of the offended party. We’ve seen this in the past with boycotts of France and the product canned tuna to correct a perceived wrong or change a bad practice or situation. As for France…well, it’s the land of the French for crying out loud, and they probably earn a good boycott every once in a while as a result of their petulant, snotty behavior! And the canned tuna boycott was created by indignant consumers who learned that Flipper was being killed as collateral damage so that we all could enjoy Charlie the Tuna on our menus. These seem like righteous applications of the boycott stick and the carrot — STOP what you’re doing, do as we want, or suffer the consequences.

Now let’s fast forward to today’s de rigeur PC boycott practice. Presently, the entire illegal alien community as well as their supporters are in high dudgeon regarding the new law in Arizona that gives police officers the authority to arrest individuals whom they suspect of being in the country illegally. Since due to sheer proximity with the US-Mexico border, the preponderance of illegals walking the streets of Arizona are Mexicans (and furthermore minority Hispanics), this law is seen to be an affront to all Americans of Spanish decent — illegal or not. Not that Arizona may not expect a crime problem from illegally-present Latvians or Swedes, it’s just that the present demographics in the state just don’t support such a conclusion. The fact of the matter is that the border between Arizona and Mexico is poorly enforced by the federal government. The federal government’s inaction to stem the cross-border human tide, either through omission or commission, has presented Arizona in particular with a whopper law-enforcement problem.

Violent crime has increased dramatically over the past decade in Arizona, as have other crimes as well. Most can be traced to either drug or illegal alien root causes. Gun violence, murders, kidnappings and home invasions are now epidemic in Arizona. Mexican drug cartels use Arizona as their gateway playground to access the remainder of the US. As an example of this, the greater Phoenix area has become the kidnapping capitol of the US because of the increased drug activity of illegals in the drug cartels. And the human trade of trafficking in illegals has become a lucrative big business. Home invasions, shootings and hostage-takings terrorize average Arizonans on a daily basis. The law enacted was the state’s sincere attempt to restore law and order to their increasingly lawless territory.

The Arizona legislature crafted the new law empowering the police in their state to specifically deal with suspected illegal aliens. The law is largely based on existing US law, and does not empower police to indiscriminately stop individuals without some predicate offense having been committed, and without reasonable suspicion that the offender may be in Arizona illegally. Only then can they arrest the individual for their immigration offense. This isn;t the “papers, please” situation (which evokes the memory of the terror of the Third Reich) that is being offed up by the skeptical mainstream media.

Well, this law just won’t cut it for the myopic crowd of illegal alien supporters in the remainder of the US. And it certainly is wholly unacceptable to a mainstream media that is hell-bent on granting amnesty to and slathering forgiveness upon every last aggrieved illegal present in the US. And let’s not be mistaken, in the eyes of their supporters and excuse-makers, each and every illegal who snuck across the border is an abused and aggrieved soul.

So, the ever since the moment Gov. Jean Brewer signed this new law into effect, the illegal alien community has taken every opportunity presented to them to represent this law as biased, discriminatory, laden with opportunity for racial profiling, and as a throwback to the strong arm tactics of Nazi Germany. To these folks, the actual predicate criminals in this matter, the immigration lawbreakers, are being abused by this new legislation…which as yet has failed to produce a single abuse case related to the law. Still, from President Obama (our supposed law-enforcer in-chief), to the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, to every group historically in the business of forgiving immigration crimes and advocating for the “rights” of the immigration criminals, the new law represents a nadir in American civil rights. Simply put, to them the law is an affront to our society.

As a result of all this hellfire and brimstone spewing over the new law, there have been demonstrations in the streets of cities throughout by illegals (who possess more cheek than sense), and a new hue-and-cry for comprehensive immigration reform. And, as if we didn’t see it coming a mile away, the calls for a boycott against the state of Arizona for their callous application of law. So, one by one the usual suspects in this arena of touchy-feely PC nonsense have stepped forward to ostracize and excoriate the state of Arizona including the ever nutty San Fransisco, CA. This week even the city council of  Boston, MA voted to boycott Arizona in all the city’s business matters. And now the NBA and major league baseball are jumping on the boycott bandwagon — in the case of the MLB they are trying to have the 2011 All Star game moved elsewhere (from the planned venue of Chase Field, Phoenix.)

But I don’t think that the creators and supporters of this boycott movement see tings clearly. By their actions they are giving tacit approval to lawlessness and law breaking. They are ignoring the fact that illegal trespassing, that is being present in the US without the proper documents or following the proper emigration procedures, is a federal FELONY CRIME. Each and every illegal alien now present in the US had the opportunity to respect OUR laws and enter the US using OUR system of emigration. Instead, they chose to ignore our procedures and mandates and enter the country on their terms. They entered the country illegally! And by offering boycotts to support these individuals, in spite of their heart-tugging and compelling personal stories, their supporters have come down squarely on the wrong side of long-standing US  (and now Arizona) law.

So I say BOYCOTT THE BOYCOTTERS!!! Let them eat cake…and let them suffer from the laws of unintended consequences. It’s high time that the remainder of us silent Americans (who believe in the rule of law) all stood up and demanded that our laws be followed and obeyed. It’s also high time that we all begin to rightly deem and perceive the act of illegally crossing the border as the crime which it is. It’s also time that we stood up for something right and correct, because we are unfortunately losing our collective soul as the great nation that we once were. If we choose to value lawlessness over the rule of law and reward the lawless with our support, then we are all but lost. Because without the rule of law, there is anarchy.

And the situation on the US-Mexico border, as well as the in-country illegal immigration situation as a whole, is as close to anarchy as a country dares get. So, PLEASE boycott the boycotters. If they support the illegals, then they support this anarchy!! So, let’s teach the ersatz, righteously indignant activists a lesson they’ll not soon forget. Let’s hit them in their wallets…and finally give them some pain proportional to their wrongheadedness. Remember, it’s our own inaction that has gotten us to this point of lawlessness, so let’s all take some productive action for once.

Please join me in boycotting the Arizona boycotters!

The recent pandemic scare with the swine flu (H1N1) virus has presented the US an opportunity with a teaching moment. But what could we possibly learn from this lurking pathogen?

For starters, it is a tremendous wake-up call to all citizens that we have borders and control our population egress for a list of rational and critical purposes. First and foremost, the control of our borders helps to control the spread of illnesses like H1N1 into our general population. That this virus emanated from Mexico is in itself a wake-up call. There isn’t a soul in the US that doesn’t know or have an opinion regarding the illegal alien problem in our country. And we all understand that the lion’s share of the aliens who sneak onto our soil originate in Mexico. All of us, of all political persuasions and sympathies towards these interlopers, should see the irony in the Mexico-illegal alien-H1N1 connection. This connection is precisely why we scrutinize those individuals who would like to either visit or emigrate to our country. We, the people, want to make sure we’re not releasing an agent of our own demise into our midst. You know, one bad apple and such.

But the Obama administration has taken a more PC attitude towards H1N1 and the Mexico connection. In their own inspired way they apparently feel that if we want to be players on the world stage, we’ve got to be willing to lose a few citizens here-and-there so that we don’t alienate (no pun intended) our neighbor to the south, or God forbid, the UN and Europe. And we certainly don’t want to rankle the powerful Hispanic political appratus in the US by suggesting that perhaps, maybe, sick illegal Mexicans could carry H1N1 into our country unbeknownst to immigration officials and the populace at large. My God, what a racist notion that is!

It’s now time to sup deeply of the euphemism food pantry: It looks like we collectively bit the bullet, dodged a fastball…got luckier than hell regarding the destructive capabilities of H1N1 to our people. It seems to be far milder and less virulent strain of influenza than was initially feared.

But, and there is always a but…if our leaders and representatives in Washington were sincere in their fealty to their Constitutional duties and responsibilities, then they would have most certainly realized the ticking time bomb that exists regarding public health and safety that unchecked illegal immigration poses to our country. And this threat exists if the means of entry is from the south or from the north…or by air or by sea.

We have immigration laws for a reason, and H1N1 has demonstrated one very good and compelling reason why. If the folks in Washington don’t learn from this obvious warning and get on the ball, and fast, then the consequences may be far too dire to simply demand an explanation from the negligent parties. We would be more than justified to demand swift legal action and appropriate legal punishment for those who neglected their sworn Constitutional duties. The souls of the many Americans who could possibly die as a result of the immigration law negligence would scream for this justice!

The crisis isn’t fully over…H1N1 cases are still popping up all over our nation and there has been at least one fatality…however it appears that we were extremely lucky this time around with this virus…however the next time we may not be so fortunate…

That is a quote from Robert Velez, a youth pastor in Laurel, Mississippi, regarding the treatment of almost 600 suspected illegal aliens nabbed in a raid at a transformer manufacturing plant there.

My reply is: “Well, yes they certainly deserved that treatment because THEY ARE CRIMINALS according to the laws of the United States of America and the state of Mississippi!”

Federal officials from ICE raided the Howard Industries plant in this southern Mississippi town on Monday, rounding up 595 illegals working at the factory. Their nations of origin included Brazil, El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and Peru. Now, if you only use the accounts written by Associated Press writer Holbrook Mohr in his story titled “Fear grips immigrants after Miss. plant raid,” you would think that our government immigration service is filled with jack-booted thugs who care little for human life and dignity. Included in Mr. Mohr’s piece are phrases like “…too scared to send her son to school” and “…creating panic among dozens of families” and “…the raid was traumatic for families” and “”We have kids without dads and pregnant mothers who got their husbands taken away,” said Velez’s son, Robert, youth pastor at the church. “It was like a horror story. They got handled like they were criminals.”" and “”There was no communication, an immediate loss of any kind of news and a lack of understanding of what’s happening to their loved ones,” he said. “A complete and utter feeling of helplessness.”.”

I may sound heartless towards these people, but I’m damned glad that ICE is stepping up enforcement efforts. As an agency tasked with controlling and preventing illegal immigration, they owe us legal citizens their tireless work and diligence in pursuing these criminals. Yes, I said CRIMINAL (Mr. Velez)!! It might be convenient to sympathize with these people after they’ve come here and assumed comfortable lives in our surroundings. It must be nice to suffer the temporary amnesia that allows an individual, like Mr. Mohr, to overlook the fact that the illegal aliens that were rounded up are indeed criminals, and furthermore they don’t belong here. The state of Mississippi has even enacted a right-thinking legislation making it a felony crime for an illegal alien to accept a job in MS, requiring businesses to perform federal background checks on all job applicants and it applies strict sanctions to businesses that are found to employ illegals. Since the federal government can’t (or won’t) crack down, it is up to the individual states to get tough on this insidious crime.

But I think much needs to be done at the federal level as well. I believe that the more FEAR that exists regarding random round-ups of illegal immigration criminals, there will be more reluctance to commit the crime in the first place. At the present time there is absolutely no consequence or punishment for committing this crime!

Also, just because a person got to their destination by whatever means and started a life and family here doesn’t ameliorate the fact that they committed the predicate crimes of illegal immigration and border trespass. Not to mention, in most cases, the crimes of identity theft, tax evasion and Social Security fraud.

So, eventually, these folks become your “neighbors” and “members” of your community. Fine, upstanding “citizens” one and all. Their kids may go to the same schools as yours. You might even sit next to them in your church. This doesn’t change a thing about them or their crime. And, oh yes indeed, they committed a crime to get here. You can’t justify bad behavior because the criminal might come off as sympathetic or “a nice guy.” People might feel different if they replaced the words “illegal immigrant” to “tax cheat” or “forger” or “bank robber” when they try to rationalize that illegal immigration is a victimless crime…or an offense worthy of overlooking…or it isn’t a crime at all. If this is the case, then legal US citizens hold the dignity and sanctity of our country in very low regard if they justify and sympathize with folks who would ignore and otherwise flaunt our nation’s laws.

I don’t know how anyone else feels, but the US is obviously an easy mark in terms of how it is viewed by the rest of the world. If people can’t get here by hook, they’ll certainly get here by crook! And they know that their crimes of migration will be overlooked or forgotten. But in the end, they are criminals deserving of punishment and deportation. Shame on any US citizen who would overlook or show sympathy to an illegal alien, regardless of their family situation or employment status. Wrong is wrong, and no good will ever come out of a person’s choice to help decriminalize unlawful behavior.

If we want to stem the almost unabated flow of humanity across our borders, then we must take a dimmer view, individually, of the illegal aliens in regards to their underlying law-breaking act. They are criminals. Period.

With all the talk of recession in the air, even Americans with the most laissez-faire attitude regarding illegal immigration surely must be just slightly concerned. With job losses as a natural offshoot of recession, every American is at risk of losing their job and/or having a lower paid illegal worker replace them. It seems when the immigration issues hit home or close to home as an economic reality, wage earners take notice.

Well wager earners, take notice!

In a legislative climate where the Congress should be displaying a strong and unwaivering advocacy for American workers, they seem to again be obsessed with providing amnesty for the millions of in-country and future illegal aliens who we are told our economy sorely needs. Congressional Democrats, acting at the behest of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are exploring ways to attach a newly-hatched amnesty proposal to a bill which increases the number of legal temporary workers. The hope of Democratic Congressional leaders is that this arrangement will be palatable to Republicans, who will support this scheme in enough numbers for eventual passage.

According to Rosemary Jenks, director of government relations for Numbers USA: “members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are spearheading the effort to approve a plan that would allow any illegal alien living in the United States to simply prove they have a job, pay a fine, and pass a background check, to receive the gift of legal status for five years.”

This plan is important because it would allow many illegals to live in the USA with perfectly legal visas as a stop-gap measure until the beginning of the second term of the next president. Democrats are confident that either Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama will be our next president, and that during their first term it would be tantamount to political suicide to propose and sign into law any amnesty legislation. So, the five year plan places a tacit five year moratorium on illegal immigration issues, like vigorous enforcement. The thought is with a Democrat securely elected for a second term, that amnesty could be safely considered and passed by a Democratic Congress and president. Or so the thinking goes.

The five year plan puts amnesty consideration and passage in the first year of the new president’s second term, and this plan is thought to be a win-win situaton for Democrats and the Hispanic Caucus (and the legion illegals in-country). If a president doesn’t have to worry about re-election, then they can essentially thumb their nose at public opinion and provide the Holy Grail of quid pro quo‘s to their loyal Hispanic operatives. It also allows the Democrats to curry favor with big business leaders, particularly in the food production ans service industries, who clamor for more and more low-pay foreign workers; often at the expense of legal American citizens.

Unfortunately, this plan screws the average American. There is no other way to put it! This is particularly true in a potential time of recession; a time when Americans will need access to any job available in order to make ends meet. But with a looming amnesty, taxpaying American workers get a double whammy — they must worry through a time of great employment uncertainty while paying taxes which support countless illegals on our “entitlement” doles.

Even worse, we must all suffer the indignity of being summarily ignored by our representatives in favor of individuals who have cheated our system. Time after time, the vast majority of American voters, citizens and taxpayers have said “NO” to illegal alien amnesty and “YES” to border enforcement and vigorous immigration enforcement. And we have done this in unambiguous terms. The Congress, particularly the arrogant Democrat majority, just can’t seem to get this fact through their thick skulls. In lieu of deporting the law breaking invaders, the Democrats are fixated on getting them absorbed into the “legal” immigration status and citizen roll. Obviously, the Dems get a multitude of loyal and beholding voters, a situation which has the potential to change the political climate in America FOREVER!

Well, I say to you that YOU can still make a difference in the defeat of this scheme. You still have time to contact your Congressional representatives and voice your opposition to this five year amnesty scheme. Additionally, with mid-term Congressional elections looming in the fall, you can use your precious vote (while it still makes a difference) to punish a legislator who plays deaf to your wishes.

Perhaps the threat of becoming “unelected” will be enough to convince the vote whores in Washington that we common citizens are serious about our opposition to amnesty, and that we can and will do something about it. I assure you that if they don’t understand anything else, politicians understand the weight of numbers…and being re-elected is far more important to them than displaying fealty to their Hispanic Caucus colleagues.

If you care anything about your country, it’s future, and your children’s future, this is one issue that you MUST get involved with. Time is running out, so please act NOW!
